26th Annual Monterey Days Festival Begins Friday

The 26th Annual Monterey Days Festival gets underway Friday, September 1 and runs until Monday, September 4.

Friday’s activities include the pageant for children ages 4-7 and 8-12 at 6 p.m., the Lion’s Club cake walk at 6:30 p.m., the fishing tournament registration from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. ET, and the hillbilly scramble at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Saturday’s events include the fishing tournament from 7 a.m. to noon, town-wide yard sales from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Monterey Library book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the waterball challenge at the Monterey Fire Department at 10 a.m., the watermelon eating contest at 11 a.m., the frog jump/turtle race at noon, the tractor show at 4 p.m., the parade featuring the Monterey Fire Department as Grand Marshal at 7 p.m., and the band Low Coolant at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Arts, crafts and food vendors will be open all weekend.
