The Food Bank of Northern Indiana Mobile Food Pantry will have mobile distribution events at several locations in the tri-county area throughout the rest of this month.
One distribution is today (August 18) from 10 a.m. to noon ET at Sunnyside Park at Jane’s Playground in Bremen. This distribution is sponsored by the United Way of Marshall County and will serve 200 households.
A mobile distribution is set for Monday, August 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT at the Bass Lake-California Township Fire Department at 7225 U.S. 35 in Knox. This is a USDA distribution and will serve 200 households.
Another mobile food pantry event is Wednesday, August 23 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. CT at the La Porte Civic Auditorium at 1001 Ridge Street in La Porte and will serve 200 households.
The last area distribution is set for Monday, August 28 from 10 a.m. to noon ET at the New Song Church at 1292 Baker Street in Plymouth. This distribution is sponsored by the United Way of Marshall County with added USDA product and will serve 200 households.
Assorted food items are offered free of charge. All items are pre-boxed and pre-bagged. Food is distributed on a first come, first served basis, and while supplies last for those in need of food assistance. There will be one box or bag per household.
Distributions are drive-thru. Clients are asked to remain in the vehicle and open the trunk of the vehicle to receive items. An area will be available for self-loading if the trunk does not open.
