Firefighters from four fire departments in Starke County responded to a house fire Sunday evening in the area of 600 E. and 250 N. in Grovertown.
Washington Township Fire Chief Rick Clark said the 1,700 square foot single-family home was a total loss. Firefighters from Washington Township, Hamlet-Davis Township, Knox-Center Township and Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Departments responded to the scene. It rekindled the next day and firefighters from the same departments responded at 5 a.m. CT where they remained at the scene for four hours.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The results of the investigation have not been released.
