Knox City Council Approves Appropriations Transfer, Flexible Benefits Plan Resolutions

The Knox City Council members unanimously approved a transfer resolution Tuesday night that moves funds within the same funds to take care of expenses.

The transfers included $2,145 for the office of the Clerk-Treasurer, $260 to the Mayor’s budget, $16,000 to be moved within the supplies, repair equipment and improvement line items in the Park Department’s budget, and $8,000 for supplies in the Water Department’s budget.

The council also unanimously approved a resolution that addresses participation in the City of Knox Flexible Benefits Plan, the form of “Cafeteria Plan”, as authorized under a section in IRS code.  A “Cafeteria Plan” allows eligible employees to choose from a menu of different benefits paid for with pre-tax dollars.
