U.S. 421 will be closed between County Road W. 1350 S. and County Road W. 1500 S. in La Porte County beginning on or after Wednesday, September 6.
Officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation say the closure will be for approximately three days while Norfolk Southern Railway crews install a second track.
Motorists should seek an alternate route. The official detour will follow U.S. 30, State Road 39 and State Road 8.
