2023 H.J. Halleck Award Recipient Announced

The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2023 H.J. Halleck Award recipient.

Chamber President Amy Cantu says Michael O’Connor of Winamac is this year’s honoree. 

O’Connor has always been active in serving his community.  He was instrumental in establishing the Community Foundation of Pulaski County, and he had a monumental role in securing funding and development of the Pulaski County YMCA, now known as the Wellness Center. He is also a founding member of the Panhandle Pathway Trail and the Winamac Jaycees, and has served in leadership positions in the United Way, Kiwanis Club, St. Peter’s Catholic Church Parish Council, Pulaski Health Foundation, and youth sports over the years. 

He has a lifetime career in banking and continues to serve on Alliance Bank Board.

O’Connor is a Winamac Community High School graduate, and proud Indiana University alumnus.

O’Connor has been married to his wife Sherry for 47 years and they have three children and six grandchildren.

The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce will recognize O’Connor as the 2023 H.J. Halleck Award recipient Monday, November 6 at the Celebration Station.
