The Oregon-Davis School Board members accepted a proposal last week from JMA Architects for a much anticipated HVAC project.
Superintendent Bill Bennett stated that the corporation received a bond to complete this work a few years ago, but the COVID-19 pandemic stalled the project. There have been bids submitted for the project over the past couple of years, but the prices have been out of the range of the funding for the project.
The project is anticipated to cost $6.2 million for the replacement of the chillers at the Elementary School and the Jr./Sr. High School and ventilation. Bennett indicated that the project is expected to take place the summer of 2024.
Bennett noted that the board members have been patient and diligent in doing things to best interest of the corporation during this process.
