The 29th Annual Wanatah Scarecrow Fest begins today!
The weekend is packed with events. Saturday’s activities include the 3K walk and 5K run at 8 a.m. CT at the Wanatah School. The Scarecrow Scamper is at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Main and 1st, the parade begins at 11 a.m. CT at the American Legion, Nelson’s Chicken will be sold from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the tractor show is at 11:30 a.m. at the Scarecrow Square, Hot Wheels racing is from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., bingo is from noon to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Post #403, make a sash with the queen is at 12:30 p.m., scarecrow sculpting is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the cutest baby contest sign-in is from 4:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. with the contest starting at 5 p.m., Elvis and the Sweet Sensations will perform at 7 p.m. and merchant drawings will be at 8:30 p.m. CT.
Also, don’t miss the Culver Pipes & Drums who will perform several shows daily.
Sunday’s activities include the pancake breakfast at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., the car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lions Park, the church service at 10 a.m., music from the Tri-Township Musicians from 11:15 p.m. to noon, music from Homemade Jam from 12:15 p.m. to 12:50 p.m., scarecrow sculpting from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Cass-Clinton Fire Department raffle drawing from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and the event closes at 3 p.m. with merchant drawings.
