Starke County residents are encouraged to take the Connecting Indiana Speed Test as a way to assist the county with eligibility for funding for broadband expansion, especially to rural areas of the county.
This information will assist officials with the Indiana Broadband Office in collecting data to accurately reflect gaps in broadband connectivity throughout the state. Internet speed tests measure upload and download speeds while using the internet connection on a device and the test can be taken at www.ConnectingIndiana.com.
The more tests that are conducted the more accurate the data is. Officials will be able to determine which areas are served, underserved or unserved.
Tests should be done at a different time each day with a Wi-Fi enabled device and frequency is the key. Tests can be done on a laptop or desktop computer. A cellular network or hotspot should not be used to take the test.
