The Erie Trail between Starke County Roads 300 East and 400 East in California Township is back open following the replacement of the Fell Ditch Bridge.
According to Steve Lucas, through a generous $5,000 donation from Doral Renewables, LLC, and the expertise and labor of the Prairie Trails Club and its volunteers, a needed deck reconstruction of the Erie Trail’s Fell Ditch Bridge has been completed. The Prairie Trails Club will do site cleanup and minor touchup on the deck and railings. Bicyclists and walkers should be alert to the possible presence of volunteer workers and take extra care when using the bridge in October.
The Erie Trail at this location hosts the Great American Rail-Trail, American Discovery Trail, and US Bike Route 35.
