Knox City Council Approves First Reading of Salary Ordinance

The Knox City Council went through the first reading of the 2024 Salary Ordinance during their meeting Tuesday.

Knox Mayor Dennis Estok told WKVI News, if the ordinance is approved, employees who work for the City of Knox will see a five percent hourly pay raise in 2024. He added elected officials will see a three percent hourly increase as well.

Mayor Estok entertained a motion to approve the first reading of the 2024 Salary Ordinance. A motion was made and seconded. The council members voted unanimously to approve the first reading. The second and final reading will be up for approval at the council’s next meeting.
