A Knox man was arrested Thursday, October 5 just before 10 a.m. CT after Starke County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to a residence in the 1300 E. block of 150 S. of a man inside the residence reportedly making threats.
One deputy arrived at the scene and made contact with the suspect inside the residence. The suspect allegedly did not comply with the officer’s orders and fled into a bedroom. Deputies learned that the suspect had made threats to do bodily harm to a victim and that firearms were present in the bedroom, according to the report.
Police say the suspect locked himself in the bedroom, but after about 20 minutes, the suspect, 49-year-old Jeremy E. Crittendon of Knox, agreed to exit the bedroom. At that point, Crittendon was taken into custody and transported to the Starke County Justice Center. He was booked on a preliminary felony charge of intimidation and a misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement.
He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
Formal charges will be determined by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
