Northwest Health – Starke to Host Breast Cancer Awareness Month Rally October 6

Northwest Health – Starke officials will host a “Blow Away Breast Cancer” rally to commemorate breast cancer awareness month in the community and to celebrate and honor those who have been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis.

The event is set for Friday, October 6 at noon CT outside the entrance of the Northwest Health – Starke facility at 102 E. Culver Road in Knox.

The rally will feature comments from hospital officials, a breast cancer survivor and others, and the placement of decorative pinwheels that symbolize the wind blowing away breast cancer.

The Blow Away Breast Cancer event was created in the hope to create awareness about the importance of annual screening mammograms to detect breast cancer in its earliest stages when it is most treatable.
