Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fatal off-road vehicle accident in La Porte County.
Officers say that a call came into the La Porte County E-911 Communications Center at about 4:30 p.m. CT Saturday, October 21 about an off-road vehicle accident with an injury near the 3900 block of North County Road 350 E. in New Prairie.
Responders discovered that a 14-year-old was operating a four wheeler on private property at a high rate of speed when the operator struck an object causing fatal injuries, according to the report. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Indiana Conservation Officers say that the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. No other information is available at this time.
Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted in the investigation by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department and the La Porte County Coroner’s Office.
