The Pulaski County Council discussed a resolution authorizing the execution of the courthouse lease with the Pulaski County Courthouse Building Corporation during their meeting Monday.
Last week, the Pulaski County Commissioners held a joint session with the Pulaski County Courthouse Building Corporation where they held the second public hearing for the courthouse lease involving the ongoing construction project. At that meeting it was announced this particular lease is between Pulaski County being the lessee and the Pulaski County Courthouse Building Corporation being the lessor. This lease is with respect to the renovation and equipping of the Pulaski County Courthouse.
It was announced in that same meeting the term of the lease includes up to 20 years with the lease rental not to exceed $1,135,000 payable in semi-annual installments on June 30th and December 31st of each year during the term of the lease. The public hearing was then opened to the public with no comments made. The Pulaski County Commissioners executed the lease pending the County Council’s approval.
During their meeting Monday, the Pulaski County Council was updated on the resolution to authorize the execution of the lease. A motion was made and seconded. The council voted unanimously passing the resolution.
