The Starke County Chamber of Commerce has announced this year’s Henry F. Schricker Award winner and the Business of the Year. An awards dinner is scheduled for next week to honor the recipients.
Rev. Anthony L. Spanley is the 2023 Henry F. Schricker Above and Beyond recipient. Rev. Spanley, a prominent figure in the Starke County community, has dedicated his life to uplifting and empowering those around him. As the pastor of Holy Cross in Hamlet and St. Dominic in Koontz Lake, he has not only provided spiritual guidance but has also actively engaged in numerous initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the residents of Starke County.
In addition to his community involvement, Rev. Spanley has served on various boards and committees, advocating for positive change and working to enhance the overall quality of life for Starke County residents.
Named in honor of former Indiana Governor and Starke County native, Henry F. Schricker, the Henry F. Schricker Above and Beyond Award symbolizes the importance of civic engagement, leadership, and service to the community. Rev. Anthony L. Spanley has consistently demonstrated these qualities, making him a deserving recipient of this distinguished accolade.

The official award ceremony will take place Thursday, November 9 at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center.
