The Starke County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident in the area of 700 N. State Road 23 Saturday, September 30 just before 2 a.m. CT.
Officers arrived at the scene and found a gray GMC that was halfway off the roadway and appeared a guardrail was struck in the shape of a “v”, according to the report.
Police say the driver of the truck was not on scene and the owner of the truck was identified, but is not clear if the owner had operated the vehicle at the time due to no one being in the area when emergency personnel arrived.
This incident remains under investigation.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Department, Starke EMS, and Howard’s Towing responded to the incident.
