Coalition Against Domestic Abuse Receives Grants

The Starke County Coalition Against Domestic Abuse has received two grants to make small improvements at the Phoenix House.

Officials at the organization say that $5,531.05 from the Kankakee Valley REMC’s Operation Round up grant and a $6,450 grant from the Northern Indiana Community Foundation have provided new flooring for Apartment B and Apartment A, respectively, at the facility.

The Phoenix House is a transitional home and a shelter for abuse victims and their families. Since being established, the Phoenix House has provided care and compassionate support to dozens of abuse victims and families.
