A Dyer man was arrested Thursday, November 9 after reportedly leading Starke County Sheriff’s Department officers on a pursuit.
Police say officers responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at the Grovertown Truck Stop just before 7 a.m. CT. An officer arrived to initiate an investigation, but the suspect, 40-year-old Herbert Foust of Dyer, fled from the officer.
The officer pursued Foust until further assistance arrived in the area. Officers were able to box in the suspect and Foust was taken into custody without further incident.
Foust was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and never obtaining a driver’s license.
Formal charges will be determined by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
