Surf Internet Breaks Ground in North Judson

Town of North Judson, Starke County, Starke County Economic Development Foundation and Surf Internet officials gathered Tuesday afternoon to help break the ground for the expansion of broadband internet service in North Judson.

Surf Internet Director of Field Sales Mike Losier says it has taken some time, but the availability of faster broadband internet is now coming to North Judson and it will soon be ready for residents to use.

Losier commented, “It’s been several years in talking to the city and working with the county and Economic Development, and now it’s really happening.  We’re really excited about that.  I know that now that we’re starting it’s usually a matter of two or three months [when customers can get service].  It’s not that big of a town that we can kind of get through it pretty quickly.  Luckily, the weather is beautiful right now and if we can kind of keep this going into most of November we’ll get pretty far.”

He encourages residents to keep checking the construction link on www.surfinternet.com to keep up with the project.

Jim Morris with business development at Surf Internet said the current projects are in Knox and North Judson at this time and there are discussions of building out to rural areas as plans move forward in Starke County.
