The Culver Town Council members approved a request from Culver Town Marshal Wayne Bean to hire two new officers for the Culver Police Department.
Marshall Bean has been working short staffed for months as applications of qualified candidates were not coming to the department. Larry Jolley and Tracy Owens were presented as the new officers to be hired at the department.
To ensure that the department is fully covered during this acquisition of new officers, the council unanimously approved a motion to allow overtime for the Town Marshall for the next 30 days at which time the council will revisit the matter. The council typically reviews the matter at the first meeting of the month.
