North Judson-San Pierre School Board Approves TAG Grant Distribution

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board approved Teacher Appreciation Grants during their meeting Tuesday.

Teachers who were rated as highly effective or rated as effective in the classroom will be receiving a stipend. North Judson-San Pierre School Superintendent Kelly Shepherd told WKVI News, a teacher scoring highly effective will receive $547.26, while an effective teacher will receive $437.81. He added this grant money comes from the Department of Education and is based on the evaluation process of teachers. He said the set dollar amount is attached to the corporation’s enrollment and is different from other corporations. He went on to say qualified teachers should expect to get this money prior to the holiday break as it has been added to the current billing period.

Additionally, the board received the first draft of the 2024-2025 school calendar. Shepherd said the board will have until the next meeting to look at the schedule. He stated they will either make changes or approve the calendar during their next meeting in January.
