Candidate Filing Starts January 10

Candidates for state and county positions available in the 2024 election may begin to file for office Wednesday, January 10. The filing window ends Friday, February 9 at noon local time.

In Starke County, candidates can file for surveyor, treasurer, three At-Large seats on the Starke County Council, Starke County Commissioner District 1, Starke County Commissioner District 3, Republican precinct committeemen, and Republican and Democrat state convention delegates.

Clerk Bernadette Manuel said all candidate forms are available on the county’s website and a link is provided here. Those forms may be filed in the Clerk’s Office when complete.

The offices up for election in Pulaski County include auditor, treasurer, recorder, Superior Court Judge, Circuit Court Judge, three County Council At-Large seats, two commissioner seats, all precinct committeemen, and state convention delegates. Candidate packets are available in the Clerk’s Office’s temporary location at 117 E. Main Street in Winamac.

The filing window for school board seats begins in July.

A reminder that the annual campaign finance reports for 2023 are due Wednesday, January 17 by noon local time.
