During this month’s meeting of the Eastern Pulaski School Board, Superintendent Dara Chezem commented that the board made plans concerning this year’s total solar eclipse.
“April 8, 2024, there is a total solar eclipse that’s going to occur with Indiana being in the direct path of the eclipse,” explained Chezem. “It’s actually anticipated to pass right over our portion of the state right around dismissal on that day. Because of that timing, the administrators have been talking for a couple of months and it’s our recommendation that we would plan to release around 1 p.m. ET on April 8. We have purchased specialized eye protection for all students and staff so that if parents would like to take their child out to see the eclipse they will have that available to them. We would like the students home to their families to experience the eclipse together.”
The eclipse on Monday, April 8 is expected to occur around 3 p.m. ET in Indiana.
