Flood Warning Continues for Tippecanoe River Affecting Ora, Winamac

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Tippecanoe River near Ora that also affects Winamac until Thursday, February 1.

Recent snow melt and continued rainfall will lead to rises on area rivers. Minor flooding is forecast. The river is is at flood stage and significant lowland and rural flooding is expected. The river is expected to crest at 12.4 feet Monday morning and then it will fall below flood stage early Wednesday evening. Flood stage is at 12 feet.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
