Semi Rollover Accident in Starke County Results in Minor Injuries

A semi rollover accident in the area of U.S. 30 and 600 E. in Hamlet Wednesday, January 10 resulted in minor injuries to the driver.

According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Department, police, Starke County medics and Hamlet-Davis Township firefighters responded to the scene around 4:17 p.m. CT. Police say a semi was traveling westbound when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and rolled on its side as it entered the ditch.

The driver, 62-year-old Steven Gaddis of Missouri, was unable to get out of the semi until firefighters removed the windshield to get access to the driver. Gaddis was then transported to the hospital where he was under observation until he was released with minor injuries, according to the report.

Police say the truck was loaded when it rolled, causing extended cleanup until midnight. The trailer’s contents were put into another trailer prior to it being towed by Howard and Sons Towing.
