An Aurora, Illinois man was arrested Wednesday, January 31 after a traffic stop in the area of I-94 and mile marker 38 in La Porte County.
Police say the driver, 28-year-old Mark A. Crowley, was weaving while driving and exceeding the speed limit.
Another deputy, along with an agency K9 arrived to assist at the scene. A free-air sniff of the vehicle was performed by the K9 around the exterior of the vehicle and the K9 indicated a positive alert, according to the report.
As a result, a search of the vehicle was conducted and police say two large cardboard boxes contained an extraordinary amount of THC cartridges. Crowley was taken into custody and transported to the La Porte County Jail where he was booked on a preliminary Level 2 Felony charge of dealing in a controlled substance. He remains housed in the jail on a $50,005 cash-only bond through La Porte Superior Court 1.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court law.
