The North Judson Town Council met February 23 to discuss the park project.
The town received only one bid for the proposed Town Park improvement project for which the town received a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant for $500,000 to update the park in the area of George and Weninger Streets.
The council members agreed to cut out a couple of alternate deduct bids that involve a birdnest swing and picnic tables for the pavilion at a cost of about $20,000. They also chose the second option in documents that outline specific surfacing options that include poured-in-place, synthetic turf and fiber mulch.
The final cost of the project will be determined once all of the documents and agreements are finalized at the March 4 North Judson Town Council meeting. Brown and Brown General Contractors, Inc. in Wakarusa submitted the lone bid on the project.
