A New Jersey man was injured in a single-vehicle accident Friday, February 16 in Starke County.
According to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel were called to the scene at 11:50 a.m. CT in the area of U.S. 30 near 1100 East. Police day a 2023 cargo-type Ford van driven by 36-year-old Miguel Matos Perez was traveling west on U.S. 30 when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median and into the eastbound lane. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its side.
Perez complained of back pain and was transported by Starke County EMS to the hospital, according to the report.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Department, Starke County EMS, and Howard’s Towing.
