A pedestrian was injured in an accident Friday, February 2 at the intersection of Heaton Street and Henry Drive in Knox.
According to a Knox City Police Department report, a Jeep Renegade driven by 83-year-old Andrea Lemon of Knox was attempting to turn south onto Heaton Street from Henry Drive when she told police her vision was obstructed by the sun. As a result, she hit the pedestrian, according to the report.
Medical treatment was provided at the scene by Starke County EMS. The victim was later flown to a regional hospital.
The Knox City Police Department was also assisted at the scene by the Starke County Sheriff’s Department.
