Pulaski County Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer presented the commissioners this week with letters of support for proposed broadband projects.
Origer explained that two companies are submitting grant proposals to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for funding through the Next Level Communications initiative that provides funding to companies to provide broadband fiber to communities to improve high speed internet access.
Origer said the letters of support will need to be signed by Commission President Chuck Mellon, if approved. He stressed that the letters are for support only and that no financial commitments are involved.
Main Stream Fiber and NextLink Fiber are the companies hoping to provide broadband to more customers in Pulaski County.
The commissioners approved the letters of support with Mellon’s signature with a unanimous vote.
