Several Suspects Arrested in Investigations by Starke County Strategic Response Team

A newly created Strategic Response Team through the Starke County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Jack Rosa resulted in the arrest of several individuals.

Sheriff Jack Rosa announced operation “Super Bowl Initiative” during the week of the Super Bowl which prompted the response of officers to several complaints of drug activity in Starke County.

Officers took 31-year-old Mark Neville, Jr. into custody for outstanding warrants and illegal narcotics during this initiative, according to the report.

In another incident, a search warrant was executed Monday, February 12 at the home of a Starke County resident by the officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office Strategic Response Team, detectives, and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. Police say a suspect, 51-year-old Rodney Craft, was later located and taken into custody by members of the Starke County Sheriff’s Office and Knox City Police Department. He has been charged with dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony, one count of possession of methamphetamine as a Level 3 Felony and possession of methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony. He is being held on a $29,000 cash bond and a $13,000 cash bond. He also faces a charge of serious violent felon in possession of a firearm as a Level 4 Felony in another case.

Meanwhile, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 33-year-old Dan Ard who faces formal charges of dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony, dealing in methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony, possession of methamphetamine as a Level 4 Felony, and possession of methamphetamine as a Level 6 Felony.

Officers remind residents to call police if there is suspicious activity.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
