Vehicle Fire Leads to Arrest

A vehicle fire in the area of County Road 200 South and County Road 400 West in Pulaski County resulted in an arrest.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy who responded to the incident found a book bag in a field near the vehicle. The book bag reportedly contained a large amount of controlled substances.

Police say a surveillance detail was initiated and a man returned to the scene, seemingly looking for the book bag.

The man was taken into custody and identified as 34-year-old Robert Breeden of Winamac.

Police recovered 74 grams of suspected methamphetamine, according to the report.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Winamac Fire Department and Pulaski County EMS.

Formal charges will be determined by the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office.

Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
