A Winamac man was arrested in the early morning hours Saturday, February 17 after a Pulaski County resident told the Pulaski County Dispatch Center that someone attempted to enter a residence.
When deputies from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, they located a man on the front porch. The man was identified as 36-year-old David Prater. He was taken into custody.
Police say Prater was found in possession of a .45 caliber pistol, a crow bar, and a ski mask. He also had two outstanding warrants for his arrest through the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
He was booked in the Pulaski County Jail for the two outstanding warrants and new charges. He is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
Formal charges will be determined by the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
