Community Foundation to Hold Childcare Resource Event in April

The Community Foundation of Pulaski County is hosting two call-out meetings for emerging childcare providers and for anyone interested in becoming a licensed in-home childcare provider.

This event will connect interested parties to the resources needed to get started. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with current licensed providers in Pulaski County, to learn more about what it’s like to be a quality care provider in the community. Attendees will also meet representatives from The Child Care Resource Network and get connected to the Office of Early Childhood & Out-of-School Learning (OECOSL) to learn more about licensing requirements and get connected to support resources.

The meeting will also provide information on how to obtain start-up funding. Pulaski County received a $750,000 grant from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) to build childcare infrastructure in our communities. The FSSA Grant is intended to serve as seed funding to establish new programs and strengthen existing programs. Start-up funding has been reserved for current and emerging in-home providers for licensure needs.

The meetings are scheduled for Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m. ET at the Community Foundation of Pulaski County at 211 N. Monticello Street in Winamac, and Saturday, April 20 at 10 a.m. ET at the Winamac United Methodist Church. The meetings are scheduled to take about an hour.
