Knox City Councilman Announces Resignation

Knox City Councilman Travis Schieber announced that he will be leaving his seat on the Knox City Council.

He made the announcement during last week’s Knox City Council meeting. He noted that his wife has accepted an opportunity that requires the family to move elsewhere so he will have to relinquish his seat. He said she has supported him in many ways, including multiple tours of duty overseas, and now it is his turn to support her new opportunity. He noted that this was not anything expected.

Schieber was elected to the Knox City Council in the November 2023 general election and took office January 1, 2024. He served in District 2.

The council members thanked Schieber for his service.

Schieber will have to file paperwork in the clerk’s office and then a Republican Party Caucus will be scheduled to find his replacement.
