A Starke County Republican Party Caucus has been scheduled to fill the vacancy of the Knox City Council District 2 seat. Travis Schieber previously announced he will be leaving that seat on the council.
This term ends December 31, 2028.
Those wishing to fill the seat must be an eligible Republican living in the City of Knox in District 2. An intent to run for the office must be filed in the Starke County Clerk’s Office Wednesday, March 27 by noon CT.
The Caucus is set for Monday, April 1 at 7 p.m. CT at the James Hardesty Community Center next to the Hamlet-Davis Township Fire Department at 17 W. Indiana Avenue in Hamlet.
The four eligible Precinct Committeemen will select the next Knox City Council member in District 2 out of the candidates who file an intent.
