The Eastern Pulaski School Corporation will be reviewing bus stop changes due to road work expected on State Road 14, according to Superintendent Dara Chezem.
“Starting Monday, April 15, thereabout, through November we have been notified that Highway 14 east near Pulaski Memorial Hospital clear to Highway 17 is going to be closed,” explained Chezem. “We have some students on our bus routes and we’re looking at making some alternate stops because there’s going to be instances that we’re not going to be able to get our buses turned around on the county roads. We’re working with those parents and our transportation director has been reaching out to make those arrangements. More information will be coming.”
Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving LLC will close State Road 14 between U.S. 35 and State Road 17 in Pulaski County and Fulton County on or after Monday, April 15.
State Road 14 will be resurfaced in this area through early November. This project will be done through Cold-in-Place (CIR) recycling, a method of removing and reusing the existing asphalt surface. It involves grinding off the top two to five inches of the existing asphalt surface and mixing the crushed asphalt with an asphalt recycling agent, and placing it back down with a paver.
While local access will be maintained, through traffic should seek alternate routes. The official detour will follow U.S. 35, State Road 10 and State Road 17.
