The Starke County Community Foundation (SCCF) announced this week that Hoosier Solar has pledged a generous $35,000 donation to kick off the Foundation’s Community Fund matching campaign, establishing a permanent Hoosier Solar Community Fund.

The SCCF currently has a matching opportunity that triples Community Fund donations by matching every dollar donated by two additional dollars. This means that Hoosier Solar’s donation of $35,000 will be tripled to $105,000. The Foundation aims to raise $355,000 by the end of 2025. This means that Hoosier Solar’s donation meets approximately 10-percent of the goal – a tremendous start to the matching campaign!

Community Funds generate a pool of flexible grant dollars that are used to help address the most pressing local needs. The Hoosier Solar fund will be dedicated to bolstering local community funds used for important projects, community-based organizations, and services.

These include, but are not limited to: Community Services of Starke County; Toyz for Kids which helps out local families around the holidays; the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, an organization that helps provide mobile food pantry distributions throughout the county; the Starke County Historical Society; local emergency service agencies like fire departments, police stations and EMS; and many other local charitable organizations.
