Projects Begin at North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation

A few projects have begun at the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation, according to Superintendent Kelly Shepherd.

“We have some new window graphics up in our Middle School and we got updated lettering on the side of the High School building,” said Shepherd.

There is much more to be done in the next few months, including painting projects, new bleachers and a scoreboard in the Middle School building, new signage, parking lot resurfacing, and an update to the PA system.

Shepherd added there will be an air quality update.

“It’s an air quality intervention,” explained Shepherd. “For our entire Elementary building and in our High School locker room areas and offices, we are going to install these UV light units that circulate the air. This winter in particular we had a lot of illness and sickness contributing to absences so this new product is gaining traction in the education industry. We are adding some of those units.”

The projects will be paid for with leftover funds from bond money used to pay for the Elementary School project. The parking lot projects are anticipated to cost upward of $620,000.

Shepherd noted that the air quality project will be paid for with ESSER funds as they are set to expire. That cost is about $90,000.
