Residents in the town of North Judson are encouraged to take part in the residential heavy trash service day Thursday, April 25. It is an opportunity for residents to clean out household heavy and bulk items for collection by the town’s trash service.
Carpet, padding and rugs will be collected as long as they are rolled and tied into four foot sections and no heavier than 50 pounds. Mattresses, box springs, and upholstered furniture must be wrapped in plastic for curbside pickup. Queen sized mattresses or smaller will be collected.
Bags placed for collection may not exceed 35 pounds and cans may not exceed 50 pounds.
No individual item should be over five feet in length, over three feet wide, over three feet high or weighing over 100 pounds.
Broken glass should be placed in a box, taped shut, and clearly marked “broken glass”.
Propane tanks must be removed from grills before they are collected, and all small items must be in bags or cans for collection.
Waste Management will NOT accept auto parts, tires, batteries, electronics, remodeling or construction materials, chemicals, pesticides, paints, solvents, household waste, propane tanks, gas tanks, ashes, dead animals, fencing, concrete, bricks, dirt, rocks, sod, stumps, iron, steel, cast iron bathtubs, medical waste, and appliances that contain Freon. The appliance should have a certification sticker indicating that the Freon has been removed by a certified technician.
Items should be placed out to the curb tonight (Wednesday, April 24).
