The Winamac Town Council members took time this week to talk about a possible fire territory.
Town Manager Brad Zellers asked the council members for permission to engage Baker Tilly to begin an analysis of the tax structure for a proposed fire territory. The study would involve the Town of Winamac and Monroe Township, with an option for other township fire departments to join as well.
Zellers said it would be one avenue in collecting funds for equipment to help the volunteer fire department.
The council agreed to the initiation of the analysis.
Discussions will continue to be held in upcoming meetings.
