About 28.6 percent of the voters in Pulaski County cast a ballot in Tuesday’s May 7 Primary Election.
Several contested races were on the Republican ticket. In the Republican County Treasurer race, Laura Wheeler won the Republican nomination over Rachel L. Spanley with a vote of 1,227 to 930. For Pulaski County Commissioner District 1, it was Jenny Halleck Knebel defeating Maurice E. Loehmer with a vote of 1,205 to 1,067. For Pulaski County Commissioner District 2, it was Donald (Don) Street, Jr. over Ron Barlow, Jr. with a vote of 1,117 to 1,067.
Voters were asked to vote for three Republican County Council At-Large candidates. Out of the 10 candidates, the top three candidates were Sheila Hazemi Jimenez with 896 votes, Albert AJ Gutwein with 860 votes and Tim Overmyer with 766 votes.
On the Republican ballot for Precinct Committeeman in Beaver Township, it was Ross Lee Davis with 68 votes and Kaila E. Stukofski with 34 votes; for Precinct Committeeman in Franklin Township, it was Kenneth R. Boswell with 60 and Terry L. Young with 41 votes; for Precinct Committeeman Harrison Township, it was Bradley J. Bonnell with 73 and Betty L. Stinemetz with 52 votes; for Precinct Committeeman Jefferson Township, it was Betty L. Kruger with 65 and Deb A. Marszalik Rogers with 64 votes; for Precinct Committeeman Monroe 4, it was Kelly Gaumer with 91 and Ronald P. Rudy Desabatine with 70; for Precinct Committeeman Rich Grove Township, it was Gail Lambert with 80 and Teresa Lynn Bryant with 24; and for Precinct Committeeman White Post Township, it was Levi Messer with 93 and Patricia L. Tiede with 78.
Five State Convention Delegate At-Large candidates were chosen out of 10 candidates. The top five were Susan (Sue) J. Fox with 1,258; Maurice E. Loehmer with 1,145; Lorena H. (Holly) VanDerAa with 1,114; Teresa Lynn Bryant with 1,072; and JoLynn Behny with 1,035.
There were no local contested races on the Democratic ballot in Pulaski County.
