The Hamlet Town Council opened bids for the projects that received grant funding from the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Community Crossings Matching Grant program.
Clerk-Treasurer Kristina Pitts said one bid was received from Milestone Contractors North in the amount of $177,474.75. The town received $133,106.06 in grant funds. The town’s 25 percent match is $44,368.69.
The projects include chip sealing on Jefferson Street from Railroad to Indiana, and the reconstruction of Ashland Street, Washington Street, and Lincoln Street, Madison Street from Division to Hamlet, Hamlet Street from Davis to Railroad, and McCormick Street from Pearl to Davis.
