A man was arrested Tuesday, May 21 after deputies from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office investigated a disturbance call.
Police responded to the area of Lakeshore Drive and Hudson Boulevard where a vehicle was found at Hudson Beach that matched the description given to police.
A man verbally twice identified himself as being 43-year-old Joseph Miller and provided a date of birth. A computer check determined Miller was wanted by Marion County authorities for felony theft and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
He was taken into custody and advised of the arrest warrant. It was then the true identity of the man was actually found to be Mark L. Luzar of Flat Rock, Indiana. Luzar was arrested and booked into the La Porte County Jail on a preliminary misdemeanor charge of false identity statement. He was later released after posting a cash bond.
