The North Judson Police Department is applying for a grant with the Starke County Community Foundation to get Automatic External Difibrillators (AEDs) for each of the squad cars on the department’s fleet.
Officer Patrick Quail told the North Judson Town Council that the department is applying for funding for four AEDs which allow one device for each vehicle. He said that it will be a great addition to the safety of the community. He commented that he has worked with other law enforcement agencies where AEDs were included in available equipment in squad cars and he has used them in previous incidents.
The council agreed that it will be an asset when officers respond to calls.
The Starke County Community Foundation grants committee will meet soon where all grant applications will be considered for fund distributions.
