The Starke County Highway Department is preparing for the mowing season.
Starke County Highway Interim Superintendent Rachel Oesterreich told WKVI News, mowing crews will begin their season Monday, May 6. Officials ask motorists to safely pull to the side of the road to assist crews engaged in mowing efforts. It is the Starke County Highway Department’s policy to mow five feet from the edge of the roadway for better visibility. On corners and intersections, crews mow 15 feet in all directions for safety reasons.
