A missing Grovertown man was found deceased Sunday, May 26 after a coordinated search by many county officials. Phillip Wireman, 63, was reported missing Friday, May 24.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Wireman was missing around 7:33 a.m. CT Friday, May 24 and they responded to the area of the 1000 East block of 200 North. Police say Wireman had not reported to work and police officers were called to assist.
This incident remains under investigation. An autopsy is pending, according to the report.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Indiana State Police, Starke County Coroner, Knox-Center Township Fire Department, Bass Lake-California Township Fire Department, Koontz Lake-Oregon Township Fire Department, Washington Township Fire Department, North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department, San Pierre Fire Department, and Culver-Union Township Fire Department.
