The Winamac Town Council members agreed to amend the salary ordinance to include an electric foreman to the document.
During their special meeting held Monday, April 29, the members learned that a job description was approved for the position and a motion was made to include the electric foreman in the salary ordinance. The classification will be nonexempt full-time at a rate of $32.50 per hour which will be paid out of the town’s Electric Fund. The position was also added to the benefits schedule to include medical, dental, vision, HSA, Group Life and AD&D insurance, along with catastrophic illness/injury benefits, Indiana Public Retirement System, licensing/certifications/membership dues, and business travel expenses.
That motion was approved with a unanimous vote.
The council also voted unanimously to start the new pay schedule for the position April 29.
Additionally, the council members approved a partial payment of $200,000 to Town and Country Paving from last year’s Community Crossings Matching Grant project. Town Manager Brad Zellers said there are a few areas that need to be completed or repaired around Riverside and Logan Streets. When all is complete, the council will consider paying out the remainder of the contract in future public meetings.
