Downtown Sidewalk Project Begins in Downtown Winamac

An extensive sidewalk project is underway in downtown Winamac.

Town Manager Brad Zellers told WKVI News that the project started this week. Blocks will be shut down as workers do the work to improve infrastructure in the downtown area.

The old sidewalks from Logan to U.S. 35 and from Meridian to Spring Street will be torn up and replaced, along with new light poles and new storm water lines.

Siteworx in Warsaw is the contractor working on the project.

Town officials ask for patience as the project continues. It is anticipated to be complete this fall.

This project is funded by an INDOT grant with a 20 percent town match.
